The Business Director assumes the critical role of spearheading business growth and profitability through Andersen’s largest channel partner, The Home Depot. This position involves crafting the business strategy, product and program plans, and sales strategy in close collaboration with The Home Depot merchants.

The Business Director holds a strategic position within the Storm Door Business Unit Operating Committee and The Home Depot Group Operating Committee.

The geographic scope of this role is the US and Canada.


Strategic Influence and Relationship Building:

    • Establish productive relationships with Home Depot personnel, including the VP of Merchandising, category merchants, online merchants, inventory replenishment teams, and visual merchandising.

Business Strategy Development:

    • Achieve business outcomes by creating well-crafted annual plans that lead to increased sales and improved margins.
    • Monitor competitive dynamics, industry trends, and environmental factors.
    • Influence strategy of both Andersen and Home Depot teams.
    • Maintain a competitive product “planogram” that includes competitors’ products, features, benefits, and price points.
    • Develop the annual operating plan for the Storm Door business with Home Depot.

Business Performance and Accountability:

    • Effectively monitor business performance against goals, making tactical adjustments as needed.
    • Create a culture of accountability by collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver the business plan.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Influence the delivery of business strategy and tactics through collaboration within Andersen’s matrixed organization. Engage with teams such as Field Sales, Marketing, RD&I, Product Management, and the Storm Door Operating Committee.

Product and Program Roadmap:

    • Collaborate with the Storm Door Business Unit to create short- and long-term product and program roadmaps.
    • Optimize product portfolio to simplify the customers’ shopping experience.
    • Maximize product portfolio value to deliver margin enhancement.

Program Development and Pricing:

    • Implement pricing programs and national promotional plans.

Sales Forecasting and Price Management:

    • Provide business insights to drive the sales forecasting process.
    • Develop, maintain, negotiate, and implement price adjustments.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Leadership:

    • As a member of the THD Group Operating Committee, lead a key pillar of our DEI Action Plan.
    • Foster a sense of belonging and create an inclusive environment.


  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
  • 5 or more years of window and door industry experience
  • 5 or more years of product management, business management, or strategic account management experience
  • Retail category expertise - creates solutions that achieve the right balance of products, services, and programs for the customer.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills. 
  • Strong planning skills. Ability to analyze complex business situations and develop well written and readily understood business plans incorporating complex business factors
  • Prolific personal selling and negotiating skills.  Ability to develop, communicate and influence compelling business cases which result in multi-million dollar decisions
  • Strategic leadership - Identifies information from external and internal sources to develop short- and long-term strategy to drive growth and profitability
  • Drives business results and accountability - creates an intentional plan to drive business results. Provides feedback, coaching, and influence to cross-functional partners to deliver business results

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
