Electrical Technologist I-III, Weekends
Renewal by Andersen is seeking an Electrical Technologist at our Cottage Grove, MN location. This position will report through the Electrical Engineering team structure supporting weekend plant operations. The core hours for this role are Saturdays and Sundays 5am-5pm; the other hours are negotiable.

PURPOSE:
Role is in the electrical technical support area. Primary focus is on learning to be and contributing as a key member of a technical team. This position will work with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production downtime, identify and communicate root causes, and investigate, develop, and test product and process improvements. Work may be in a laboratory, test area, product documentation, information team, manufacturing area or pilot plant.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis with other technical employees, suppliers, and outside experts
- Ability to provide technical support and services to engineers, maintenance, and operations
- Presents technical information or proposals to team members
- Performs technical support for assigned work area.
- Develop and report recommendations for improvements to technical issues
- Coordinate laboratory, field, or pre-production testing
- Demonstrates how technology can help meet customer requirements
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of the respective functional area
- Ensure work is performed in a manner that minimizes downtime
- Coach, guide, and train less experienced staff on technical topics
- Work with engineers/technologists/technicians to develop and evaluate materials, parts, product, or process while offering insights on their improvement.
- Conduct testing related to materials, parts, product, or process for improvements
- Position may require after-hours (on-call) control system support for 24/7 production on a rotational basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of formalized technical education and experience
